When you think of Tie Dye what comes to mind? Hippies? Corny “IM IN MIAMI BITCH” shirts? I think deep down, most people connect Tie Dye with their childhood- I know I do. I remember making sloppy multicolored crap with my sisters while my parents cleaned up the mess we made. Long gone are the days where my mom made me 3 meals a day and I had no worries in the world. Now that I’m growing up I cook my own meals, I have my own apartment (with a roommate), and I am starting to decorate my house like a certified adult. Recently I’ve painted some walls, added some furniture, and even started gardening a little (on my balcony).
So, I decided to add a little nostalgic color to my boring (and quickly dirty-looking) white bath mats. I sort of dropped the ball getting them in white, so this is an easy way to keep them looking nice. Plus, I think it’s a dope and memorable little detail to add to the bathroom. It was a little difficult since I went for the swirl pattern- I had to squinge up (yes, squinge is a word in my life) the thick mats into some sort of respectable circles. I watched some really good tutorials first, to get the pattern technique down. If you want to Tie Dye, get a simple kit like the Jacquard kit we used from Michael’s and watch the videos below. And wear gloves!

Anyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with nail art. I’ve been going to the same girl (Sierra Storey @YouGotNailed) for over 3 years now, sometimes bringing in inspiration photos and ideas (even CD covers) and often collaborating with her on how we can take the designs to the next level. This is no new trend- people have been getting crazy and intricate nail art for decades, but it’s just now really becoming mainstream and more accepted. This is why I really love the new documentary “Nailgasm” (See: Official NAILgasm Twitter) directed by Brass. The booming nail art business is a breeding ground for female entrepreneurship- as majority of the artists are women, which is really dope. It’s so funny to hear people admitting that they’ve spent 3-4 hours getting their designs. Now I don’t feel so crazy.
“NAILgasm, the one and only documentary about the rise of Nail Art and the women’s entrepreneurial movement it has caused.”

Here is the new video from Rihanna- Cheers (Drink To That) shows a candid, more personal side of the performer we don’t often see. On and off of work (which I assume isn’t very much of the time), Rihanna seems like she just enjoys what she’s doing.
Rihanna holds a special place in my heart as far as celebrities go. She’s wild and seems very opinionated- doing what she loves, wearing what she wants, and living her life to the fullest, just like the girls women I envision would wear the shoes I design. Honestly, if I could get Rihanna to wear my shoes just once I’d be ecstatic.
It’s always great to be optimistic. That’s why our friends Metro Zu and O’ Grime aren’t letting this little bitch Irene ruin their swaged out plans for a party tonight. Either that or they are too high on burritos and Kush to realize there’s a category 3 Hurricane slithering pass us as we speak. Either way , this crazy bunch says “FUCK THE HURRICANE” – and suggest you come and get wild with their crew at The Stage Miami Downtown. Sponsored by the Miami new times blog , The Crossfade its part of their “Crossfade Music Series” . In a hilarious interview to promote the event , Metro Zu and O’ Grimes crazy personalities shared their views on music , swag , and gettin ho’s.
“It’s a spectrum of colors, flavors, sounds, experiences, lives, galaxies, friends, people, species, kush, chicken wangs, and vulgar images’, states Freebase from Metro Zu, about the goal behind the Rap-Music-Artist collaboration of the groups personal.
Originally suppose to be an after event for the Identity Festival , which was unfortunately canceled due to the weather conditions , the bunch proceeds to stick to their obligations at The Stage tonight. Featuring Metro Zu , O’ Grime , and Chalk – the night will feature 3$ Crossfade shots all night ! Wooo ! Head out to the event , and dont let the rain make you a lame. Thanks to MTV for hipping us to this white girl mob eyeliner guru a.k.a Kreayshawn, cause Gucci and Prada aint poppin’! Lay off that Neiman Marcus flow and go thrifting, throw on some nerd glasses and line those peepers ladies! At least if you want that steeze. Can you pull it off??? Norma and I already know a thing or two about digging through old clothes and doing a lil cat eye action. Who’s next??
Things got a little sloppy during the eyeliner battle but guess who won? [Check out the video here!]
And here’s a few more tutorials for all you basic hoes out there
Here is the video for Yelawolf‘s track off his album Trunk Muzik 0-60 “Daddy’s Lambo” directed by Mike Mihail.
I love Yelawolf, this is no secret. I’ve talked about him lots of times and I’m super hype that he’s now signed to Eminem‘s Shady Records. at first I was a little skeptical and honestly a bit bored with this video-until he ditches the rich bitch and takes that damn snap back off ! So all in all I like the video- and fyi Yela, I’d be a much better “main girl” think about it. @ajascoolshoes
And check out the behind-the-scenes video of Yealwolf basically showing off how country he really is.
If when you think “Joe Budden” the only thought that comes to mind is “Pump It Up” – then you are horribly misinformed. This New Jersey rapper has been in the rap scene for years past his debut album in 2003 , which featured singles like “Fire” and yeahh “Pump It Up” – but that’s not your 2011 Joe Budden. For years in the underground scene Joe has been hustling under the radar (and in the strip clubs) working on mixtapes and EPs. Classic Mixtapes include Mood Muzik and Padded Room, – and his group Slaughterhouse (alongside MCs Royce da 5′ 9’’, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I) recently was signed to Shady Records.
Can’t fail to mention Joes new found online presence with the help of Twitter, U Stream , and blogs – he’s put his life front and center to the world which has helped him get his music out to more people. I personally think Joe Budden is a fool and fuckin hilarious on Twitter. (@JoeBudden if you don’t follow him!) – in-between dating Tahiry and making her the shit and talking back to people who try him on Twitter , he’s fucking crazy and seems like a real cool guy.
