In today’s musical environment, one’s image has never been more important, and that of course translates into musicians’ videos. Everyone these days has “swag”- the cool “it” hat or tee can be seen on basically anyone walking down the street. That’s boring now. One thing that an artist can call his or her own though is the visualization of their music. And one thing I love about really well done music videos is that it can be something so personal, so true to the vibe and meaning of the song, something that not everyone can jack and water down. Like, I’m tired of being told to Comme Des Fuck Down. Let’s see something dope and new !
There are two videos that caught my attention today that I have to share with you all. They are from very different musical genres: one a Philly based rapper, one a UK based electro producer, but they both have visually amazing videos. Check them out below and please note, they may cause seizures!!
Featuring a haunting sample of Fiona Apple’s “Every Single Night”. Directed by Qarim Brown. Tight work. A little bit trendy with the angelic baroque theme that is so right now, but still very good.
Follow Forte on Twitter @Gilbereforte for more updates!
Utilizing clips from the 1950′s in the craziest way, this video by Cyriak blew my mind. The amount of work this took is unimaginable to my feeble mind. The song is a little creepy and the video, at least to me, is a testament to American consumerism. Or maybe it’s just a bunch of GIFs.
Follow Bonobo in Twitter @Sibonobo for more info, his music is chill and perfect pool side.
This video reminds me of “Civilization” by Marco Brambilla. Check out our coverage of the amazing video installation HERE.
In a breaking news-type flood of information last night, we here at 2DOPEBITCHES.com have been informed that the “Based God” Lil B will be heer for a very rare and unprecedented performance this Sunday at Miami’s own EVE in downtown.

If when you think “Joe Budden” the only thought that comes to mind is “Pump It Up” – then you are horribly misinformed. This New Jersey rapper has been in the rap scene for years past his debut album in 2003 , which featured singles like “Fire” and yeahh “Pump It Up” – but that’s not your 2011 Joe Budden. For years in the underground scene Joe has been hustling under the radar (and in the strip clubs) working on mixtapes and EPs. Classic Mixtapes include Mood Muzik and Padded Room, – and his group Slaughterhouse (alongside MCs Royce da 5′ 9’’, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I) recently was signed to Shady Records.
Can’t fail to mention Joes new found online presence with the help of Twitter, U Stream , and blogs – he’s put his life front and center to the world which has helped him get his music out to more people. I personally think Joe Budden is a fool and fuckin hilarious on Twitter. (@JoeBudden if you don’t follow him!) – in-between dating Tahiry and making her the shit and talking back to people who try him on Twitter , he’s fucking crazy and seems like a real cool guy.

Um, is swag the word to use here? I know, I know, swag is the most overused word in the young world right now but if I’m wrong, what would you call it?
Internet hot bitch Kreayshawn‘s newest video is entitled “Gucci Gucci” and basically states that basic bitches wear the shit they see in stores and magazines while dope chicks have their own swag, steeze, style or whatever you wanna call it to pull off anything they want. I personally like the message because I’m a thrift store loving tom boy sneaker feind with “nerd-at-the-cool-table” syndrome. So basically I’m ALL ABOUT self expression and saying “f*ck it” by wearing whatever I feel good in, no matter how crazy it may be.
Anyways, a bit about Kreayshawn- She’s is from Cali, she chefs it up in videos like Lil B, she is covered in tattoos and is the queen of GIFS.
How do you like the song/video??
Check out her YouTube page for more videos and her Tumblr for her random photos and such.
