Here are a few tracks from up and down the East coast. Beyond Modern’s new remix hails from the DMV and is something dope even for the guys to dance to. Glocky Davis puts on (again) for his city of Sin a.ka. Miami. Vulkan The Krusader and A$AP Ferg hold down NYC with their party track. Enjoy!

Mick Marx “End It In The Morning” Sweatmix

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

What we have here is a remix of Mick Marx of Beyond Modern‘s original song “End It In The Morning” remixed by his group counterpart Sur Jazz, who happens to turn the already jamworthy song into a colossal dance anthem.

Glocky Davis  ”For The City” Prod. By Danny Dee

Another banger from Miami’s Glocky Davis, “bringing the food back to the city.”

Vulkan the Krusader Ft. A$AP Ferg “Coke & Rum”

This beat is weird and sort of reminiscent of a circus which is the perfect backdrop to Vulkan The Krusader and A$AP Ferg‘s rap about drinking and getting trippy.

What'd I tell ya about dip-dyed hair?

I recently took a mini vacation- I’m on the last day of it right now actually- where I jetted up to NYC then took a Chinatown bus down to Maryland for some family time.

Check out a couple photos of my short time in Brooklyn and the LES. I was with my friend Erika, a likeminded indivudual who is in the music and I guess “artsy” hipster-ish scene I associate myself with. She nonchalantly invited me to a brunch that her friend was throwing so we moseyed on over only to walk into a dimly lit room full of awesomeness. Everywhere I looked was a uniquely dressed 20 something with a cocktail in hand. The venue itself “Co-op” was dope- very beautiful yet eclectic and youthful with an all-wood room that would later become the dance floor. I’m super ignorant to the nightlife in the city so when I told my friend where I was I was suprised when he asked me if I was rich. Apparently it’s a pretty swanky place. I just went for the brunch, that I missed, and ended up meeting great people and even running into designer brother duo Dee and Ricky who we know from Miami. Great way to welcome me back to NYC.

After stopping by an awesome Creperie we headed over to a few shops (Supreme, Chipotle to name a few) then went to Yours Truly the rad clothing store in BK. There was a Cinco de Mayo keg party happening in the back with BBQ and a great DJ. I ran into a couple more people I’ve come in contact with over the past few years in Miami- Reemy from ANMLHSE clothing for instance. The world is tiny.

One thing I noticed that was really dope to me was the abundance of “black hipsters”- lots of hipsters or whatever you want to call them in Miami, but not too many black ones. Race obviously doesn’t matter or anything but it was just cool to see these people- black, hispanic, asian, etc wearing their crazy clothes, piercings, hair colors (!) and doing their thing without feeling like they have to live up to some stupid stereotype. More power to them and anyone else doing their thing. Word.

Ill Show you guys a few pictures from my time at home as well simply because my nieces are the cutest things EVER.

We all need vacations sometime!

This bracelet has my heart! Jennifer Fisher‘s Brass Bullet Cuff is part prissy uptown Manhattan, part ode to the iconic punk rock bullet belt. Less bulky than the belt and more “urban” than the girl who never steps below 79th street, this cuff would set any ensemble off with a bang. Pun intended.

If you’re feeling like spending almost a THOUSAND DOLLARS on this beauty, click on over to Barneys online !

I’m not one for jewelry sets normally but I’d love the matching ring as well.

The ring is available at Barneys for $175. Hey, it’s tax time!

These pieces are part of a capsule collecting Fisher is doing with Barneys. She explains her collection:

Jennifer Fisher x Barneys New York

Jennifer Fisher’s new capsule collection for Barneys New York lends a heavy dose of glamour to the costume counter. The collection, which features new oversized cuffs in addition to her classic charms, is born out of Fisher’s desire to offer more look for less, explaining that ‘[she] had a desire to create larger statement pieces without the customer having to pay a fortune.” By working in brass for the line, Fisher is able to “convey the feeling of weight” so the pieces feel rich, without the price tag to match.

I recently got a nice little surprise in my email inbox- a teeny 3 song album from Basement Batman. The name alone caught my attention so I, still half alseep, clicked my way over to Bandcamp.com, downloaded the songs and was promptly a happy, still sleepy girl. The music isn’t easily put into a category- but I love it. Every sentence I write trying to describe it makes me sound more and more like a tool. So fuck it- just take a listen!

Download the album, FREE, right here!!

So, just who the hell is Basement Batman??

Basement Batman is a 3-person Dirt-Pop band out of Bushwick, Brooklyn.  Episode 1 is the first release from their debut album, Basement Batman: Season 1, which contains the single “On A Streak.”  Episodes will be released every two weeks, so stay tuned for the free download of Episode 2.

“We’ve all been friends since age 5. Getting into trouble, trying to be Air Jordan on the court and the Fresh Prince in class. They would listen to Pac and Biggie and I would listen to The Beatles and my dad’s disco tapes. It’s pretty much the same now. We all live together and made these songs in our apartment in Bushwick out of a crappy bass amp, an effects pedal and a Johnson electric guitar. We’re not exactly sure what we’re doing, but we really mean it. Basement Batman was the first name we ever came up with and we like it.”
–Ben

Basement Batman is:
Ben Martinez (Lead vocals, guitar, synth, bass, production)
David Muehlenkamp (production, bass, synth, guitar, vocals)
Will Whitney (production, drums, synth, vocals)

Check out their Facebook for more!

I miss these types of mixtapes. Remember the kind that actually had a mixture of songs from different artists which were the hottest songs at that moment in time. Yeah, those. This mixtape which was released for this years Art Basel is dope with songs like J.Cole‘s Mr. Nice Watch and the Niggas In Paris Remix with T.I. – so get back to feeling like its middle school summer and download this mixtape from Air Force King himself DJ Clark Kent – and of course presented by the always reppin it, MI GENTE CLOTHING and COOL Js.

Rebel FUCKING Bingo. My, my , my … this was an interesting night! Last Friday, It was Miami’s first taste of The Underground Rebel Bingo Club and us lucky ladies got to attend the show and hang out with the peeps who make it all happen. The Underground Rebel Bingo Club is basically a party with a game of bingo in-between. And not just any bingo, like raging energy intense bingo. “Oh he’s so fine, 69!” is the type of obnoxious comments made when announcing the numbers, all while during the game two hot ladies pounce around on stage screaming at their lungs “WINNER” when someone yells bingo. Like yeah. Oh and there an English gent who’s just as loud as well.

It was an experience. Add college kids to the mix and its a party. The turnout could have been more but its was a pretty large crowd. The event took place at The Fillmore Miami Beach which is a concert venue here in Miami. Used to holding large concert crowds, the place overwhelmed the amount of people in attendence. Nonetheless, it was a good turnout for their first event here in Florida. I suggest (and said this to the event organizers ourselves) that they throw the bash at Grand Central Downtown next time. Anyways, enough with the chit chatter, look at he pictures for all of the unexplainable experience that is The Underground Rebel Bingo Club!

Check out their website here to find out when and if they are coming to your town. These guys are international! London ! Ibiza ! Spain ! and of Course North America!

The Underground Rebel Bingo Club will be back very soon to Miami! Can’t wait!
