Your favorite 2dopebitches recently caught up with the Detroit native Guilty Simpson to see what’s up with him and his current / future projects and to give you guys a little more insight into who he is before his performance at EVE this April 15th in downtown Miami.
The event is going to be really dope, with artists both local to Miami and world-traveled veterans in the game !
The internet is abuzz with download links and hopeful anticipation of the collaborative effort by Asher Roth and Nottz Raw- The Rawth EP.
After a few singles being released to high acclaim, that hopeful anticipation is well deserved. I just downloaded this EP about 30 minutes ago and I’ve already been won over. Peter Rosenberg first debuted the single “Enforce the law” on his radio show on NYC’s Hot 97 and assured people the album is worth the wait. He says on his website: “When I tell you these two have some shit–TRUST. This is the side of Ash I have been waiting for y’all to hear.” AGREED.
Not familiar with these two artists??
Well, Asher Roth is a sometimes comical, sometimes politcal rapper, hailing from PA, whose first single was “I Love College” even though his musical talent extends WAY beyond the frat-house anthem’s rhymes of college hazy days. His latest mixtape, “Seared Foie Gras with Quince and Cranberry” (Download it HERE!) was extremely well received and featured beats borrowed by many music giants such as Pharrell and J Dilla all mixed wonderfully by his DJ friend Wreckineyez.
Nottz is a rapper, writer and producer coming from Norfolk, VA. He has been in the game for a while, putting in work with the likes of Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Notorious B.I.G., and J. Dilla (6 degrees of separation, anyone?). His lyricism really shows out on this EP and blends his style perfectly with Asher’s. Also, Dr. Dre named Nottz as one of his favorite producers.

The Rawth is short and sweet- 8 tracks to zone out to. The song “Nothing You Can’t Do” LITERALLY feels like it’s talking directly to me. A college graduate, figuring out life and what’s next, not letting preconceived ideas set forth by society stop you from following your dreams- I can dig it.
There are a few features- not too many to take away from the Rawth artists- including Kardinal Offishall, Rhymefest, D.A. of Chester French, and Collin Munroe.
