Crazy how much things can change in one year.
Its been over a year since my D.U.I – or what I like to call,”my accident.” I lost a lot in a year but gained so much more at the same time. As of now, I’m not ready to completely share my story with everyone but what I do want to share ,for any others who will or have come into the same situation as me, is a glimpse into what happens when you try to continue life after a D.U.I.. I found it difficult when I wanted to start driving again after my “accident” to find information on what sequence of events were about to happen. I knew that the judge ordered an “Ignition Interlock Device” to be installed in my car for a period of 6 months – but I didn’t know what it was neither how it would work. I Googled and searched the internet, with not much personal stories other than some genetic summary’s provided on attorney help websites.
Well guess now you have found a personal account of an Ignition interlock device experience. Installed upon re-installment of your license, the ignition interlock system monitors your driving habits and basically see’s if you have been driving while intoxicated. We’re talking one beer or 5 cocktails – it can tell because you have to blow into your car to start it ALL THE TIME. So much so that it’s incredibly annoying.

In Florida, installment of the system is about 150$ along with “monthly monitoring” fees amounting to about 50$-70$ a month. And by “monitoring” they mean you go to their convenient ( Im being sarcastic) locations, sit for 40 minutes , and pay fees for them to just download the information off your monitoring device to see what you have been up to.
Pretty much it works like this: Every time you get into your car you must blow into the interlock device in a precise manner for about 10 seconds. I say precise because there is a certain method that you must learn to blow into he device so that it may read your BAC level correctly. So you 1.) “blow” when you start the car 2.) “blow” 10 minutes after the car has been on 3.) Every additional 15-20 minutes after the start-up “blow” It will prompt you to retest for another blow along the drive- yes that means it will keep testing you while your driving in order to make sure someone didn’t just blow into it at the beginning while your off the wall drunk driving home.

Basically, it’s a snitching machine. You have to really watch your drinking habits and practice the principle of not drinking AND driving. This means if it’s a shot or just a glass of wine or even a beer. For God sakes, if you have mouthwash with alcohol in it, it WILL pick it up and record that information. If you have too many violations on your account then you get sent to consoling and can have your license taken away from you again.
It can get complicated , costly, and annoying – but in the end its set up to teach people a lesson. A lesson I learned and i would never wish upon anyone else. The struggle I’ve had to endure since my accident left me prideless, money less, and unhappy. One night of partying cost me a lifetime of consequences , and living in Miami – drinking and driving go hand in hand. I’m not the only person who’s committed this act, all of us as teenagers do … I just got caught and now I’m here to lead by example.
I’ll post more about this from time to time as I become comfortable about talking about this issue, But for now, I hope this helps anyone who has to or is interested in learning about this experience. Any questions or comments , feel free to leave in the comments section and I will answer ! I want to help out others who have fallen in my situation…
Love and Kissys, Norma

Rebel FUCKING Bingo. My, my , my … this was an interesting night! Last Friday, It was Miami’s first taste of The Underground Rebel Bingo Club and us lucky ladies got to attend the show and hang out with the peeps who make it all happen. The Underground Rebel Bingo Club is basically a party with a game of bingo in-between. And not just any bingo, like raging energy intense bingo. “Oh he’s so fine, 69!” is the type of obnoxious comments made when announcing the numbers, all while during the game two hot ladies pounce around on stage screaming at their lungs “WINNER” when someone yells bingo. Like yeah. Oh and there an English gent who’s just as loud as well.

It was an experience. Add college kids to the mix and its a party. The turnout could have been more but its was a pretty large crowd. The event took place at The Fillmore Miami Beach which is a concert venue here in Miami. Used to holding large concert crowds, the place overwhelmed the amount of people in attendence. Nonetheless, it was a good turnout for their first event here in Florida. I suggest (and said this to the event organizers ourselves) that they throw the bash at Grand Central Downtown next time. Anyways, enough with the chit chatter, look at he pictures for all of the unexplainable experience that is The Underground Rebel Bingo Club!
Check out their website here to find out when and if they are coming to your town. These guys are international! London ! Ibiza ! Spain ! and of Course North America!

The Underground Rebel Bingo Club will be back very soon to Miami! Can’t wait!

I’m pretty sure you probably have had it up to here with 9/11 reports , specials , television programs , radio shows , newspaper articles , etc. – even if you feel ashamed to admit it. I’m going to be honest and say I’m kinda over the media coverage leading up to today’s September 11th anniversary but nonetheless it’s needed to remind us of what happened and changed the lives of all Americans 10 years ago.
10 years ago. 10 years ago. What was I doing 10 years ago? I (Norma) was in 7th grade in Highland Oaks Middle. I had not received my first kiss yet. I wore DADA Shoes (Google them). And my favorite hobby was stalking boys – pre-facebook days. And on September 11 , 2011, I was sitting in my home room class while they took class role and the television was already turned on. As I looked up I saw the towers , one tower burning already, and the news commentators were reporting it was a plane accident at first. My classroom was a buzz with students speaking about what it might be and the teachers leaving the classroom back and forth while they discussed the events going on. It was pandemonium in Miami, Florida – I can only imagine New York City. I remember sitting there as a pre-teen thinking to myself. Not speaking to anyone the whole time, I thought ,” I will remember this moment for my whole life”. Now ten years later I’m telling you this story.
I now have had more than my first kiss. I’m a 3rd year student in a University. And I still stalk boys – but now I’m more advanced about it. And apart from the conspiracies, the many in-depth reports and documentaries, and finger-pointing – I can say that whats most important that came out of this event is that we can no longer be ignorant to ourselves as a country. We are not untouchable , we are not invincible. We are just as vulnerable as the rest. And we have to be careful and humble as a country. To be honest , I’m the kind of person that like to stay in the box, and I don’t believe all the mumbo-jumbo about conspiracy this and conspiracy that. Stop trying to make something more than it is. Nonetheless, my heart and prayers go out the families affected , I could never understand you pain other than to know your loved ones are now in a better place.
I (Aja) am a bit older than Norma, I was actually a freshmen in high school, sitting in my Home Economics class, TV on, and we all witnessed the second plane hit the towers. I was 14, and still too shy to stalk boys. I was living in Branford, CT and one of my sisters was living in NYC. I was sitting silently, hoping and praying my sister was nowhere near those towers. Luckily she wasn’t. I can’t even imagine what it must be like for the people who actually did lose family and friends. And then I think, what about people in countries that we (America, certainly not me) attack every day?? They don’t have a day to remember this bad thing that happened, they have things this bad happening all the time. Back then I was too young and naive to even think about conspiracy theories or covert government stuff. But now… Point is, it’s a tragedy no matter what way you look at it. HOWEVER, let us not forget and like Norma said, let’s not be ignorant- to things going on in the world- and realize that there is a war going on. America is waging a war on MULTIPLE countries right now, where civilians, kids, moms, dads, innocent people are casualties ALL THE TIME. I say that , not because I don’t think we deserve to mourn, just to point out that we aren’t the only ones suffering. There are LOTS of Americans who were directly affected by this tragedy. Check out their touching stories here.
This is an animation based on a story told by Joe Vigiano, Sr. about his two sons – one a fireman, the other a policeman – who were killed during 9/11. Watch. Via LikeCOOL.

Construction on the new World Trade Center is underway. One World Trade Center , also known as the Freedom Tower, will be the tallest building in the United States, standing at a symbolic height of 1,776 feet (541.3 m), and among the tallest buildings in the world. It is scheduled for completion in 2013. This is just one building in the many which will be built in place of the two towers and rebuilding the complex of the World Trade Center site. Find out more about the new WTC construction and updates here.

Damn you North America. Tonight takes place a special day in solar space observation. The longest solar eclipse since 2000, will last about 1 hour and 41 minutes. But North American skylovers (thats includes United States assholes) will not be able to watch it ! Wack !
According to NASA , “A lunar eclipse occurs when Earth lines up directly between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun’s rays and casting a shadow on the moon. As the moon moves deeper and deeper into Earth’s shadow, the moon changes color before your very eyes, turning from gray to an orange or deep shade of red.”
Since apparently the USA supernation-ness status doesnt matter to the space world - we wont be able to actually watch it but you can still catch it on a few places doing webcasts of the specticule that wont occur in our part of the hood’ until April 15, 2014! So for my international readers , keep your sights up to the sky tonight!
Wanna learn more about Lunar eclipses? Check out NASA. Check out Bareket Observatory’s Live Broadcast here to watch the event over the web.

Ahhh , Here at 2DOPEBITCHES we embrace and welcome all opportunities to collaborate. Because one community of friends is better than a community of haters ! We can all grow together in this metropolis of opportunity which we call Miami. With that said one of our top supporters and super dope chick her self has started to make way in the music community .
MOMMY WARBUCK$ is one pretty cool chick from Cali/Miami/Jamaica. When it comes to Jahneen aka MOMMY she gives it to you straight forward: She’s not here to fuck around. Working with one of Miamis top entertainment lawyers, she handles the other side of the industry - legalities and consulting for entertainers of all kinds. I respect her hustle because in a city flooded with stylists, promoters, and wanna-be entertainers , Jahneen keeps it real and keeps it strictly business.
We had the honor of catching up with her for out recent event and did an interview for her new website. Which is spectacular , to say the least. Check it out for the latest in Miami events and music.
