MIAMI! We are very proud to be a part of a true Hip-Hop event that’s coming to Miami for the first time since 2012- The Boom Bap! Oct 24th, the highly acclaimed southern party is once again making it’s way all the way south to Miami, FL!
Featuring a slew of talented DJ’s such as Rate, Ynot, DZA, Case Bloom, and featuring special guest DJ Boogie Blind (of The X-ecutioners!), this party s about to be the place to be. It’s FREE to get in, and it’s at Blackbird Ordinary in Brickell.
Your favorite 2 Dope Girls will be hosting the event, so come out and support this Tennessee meets Miami party! You can expect a lot of jams that I’m sure will bring back memories. Aside from that, considering the DJ lineup, I’ll bet there will be a lot of great turntablism - I’m really excited to hear these guys in action! You may be familiar with Miami residents DZA and YNot, so the addition of heavy hitters like Case Bloom and Boogie Blind is going to be something really special.

About The BOOM BAP:
What started as a monthly party in Nashville that basically was a haven for friends to spin their favorite Hip Hop turned into an internationally recognized event amongst DJ’s and attendees. With DJ’s spinning Round Robbin style on 4 turntables, they play off of each other and the vibe, creating a very unique and personable energy, capped off by a special guest DJ. The party now returns to Miami as the party goes into it’s 6th year.
YEAH. THIS IS REAL. So, M.I.A. is known to be one of our idols here at 2DopeBitches. With her eye for style and ability to wear anything (or do anything) and be AMAZING at it – the M.I.A. x Versus collection fits and embodies M.I.A. entirely. The Versus brand is the Italian powerhouse Versace’s diffusion brand, their “crazy, off the wall” sister side of things. Created for those who want to evolve their own individual style, Gianni Versace introduced Versus in 1989 describing it as, “Versus was born with an innate creative approach, with a strong focus on innovation, flair and the unconventional. An artistic force that takes present fashion forward, anticipating new trends and embracing challenge”.
With M.I.A’s input on the brand’s newest collection, she takes her signature style and graphical design imprint and combines it with the concept of counterfeit Versace designs seen frequently on Canal streets across the World.Riffing on classic sportswear, the collection remixes Versace trademarks, combining golden medallions with Sanskrit-inspired lettering and glowing lotus flowers. Loud, outspoken and ready for action, it’s everyday armour, bristling with urban attitude.
I’m kind of obsessed with all of the looks. The best value seems to be the M.I.A Printed T-Shirt Dresses, which will set you back 275$ and the quilted mens shoes, which are 325$. They remind me of Balenciagas Arenas so this might be my type of collection! Love it all. What’s your favorite piece?
“Unlike most molecules, Cocaine has pockets and may even induce brain breakdown”

It’s been a while since we did a What Did You Wear Post! We’v both been growing, changing, and now we both wear “work clothes” a lot more than before. I don’t mean uniforms, Norma and I both are lucky enough to work in cool, fashionable offices and so we’ve had to grow our wardrobe to match the new settings. I often need to look presentable and stylish, as I never know who’s going to pop up or what meeting at which I’ll find myself.
Today I decided to wear an item I haven’t worn once since I bought it about 5 months ago. A Liz Claiborne Vintage Jumpsuit! It is a cinnamon brown, perfect for the Fall season. The material is an almost sueded Rayon, which looks and feels like Silk. It’s a difficult piece to get right, since the legs are a little wide and short. I think I made it work though! I kept it simple with a high bun, my All-Time-Favorite heels by Alexander Wang and minimal accessories. The thin belt helped cinch the waistline and keep me from looking boxy. I love mixing high and low- most of my outfit is from thrift stores with some luxury accessories thrown in for balance.

This past Saturday night, Toronto native Abel Tesfaye a.k.a. The Weeknd serenaded fans and provided explosive visuals during the Miami leg of his Kiss Land Tour. I’m honestly not very familiar with music from his latest album “Kiss Land,” so even though I enjoyed hearing his crooning to the crowd of almost-crying super fans, I was really happy he did some of his “House Of Balloons” classics. Call me old-fashioned but I loved hearing, “Glass Table Girls” live. The Weeknd’s “House of Balloons’ album defined one of my most confusing years of my life so far, 2011, so hearing these songs moved me, as music should. His new album features his signature sound but with a more in-depth and diverse sound. Growing and experiencing the outcome of his success, he told the crowd he wrote his newest album “Kiss Land,” while on his last tour. It features perspective on his latest experiences and feelings – and that great Weeknd emotion we all love.
Abel declared that Miami was his “second home” (which , of course, made the crowd go crazy) and belted out song after song with his signature high-pitched vocal style. Playing up the Japanese theme of his “Kiss Land,” album, the stage design included a mixture of Japanese neon signs mixed with silhouettes of sultry women and a cute cartoon cat that seems to be his mascot for the newest album. What definitely took us by surprise was when the cute cartoon graphics stopped and suddenly a video of two women passionately making love in their bras and undies (which came off subsequently) took over the stage. Mainly I was shocked because this was an All-Ages show, so there were pre-teens in the audience. Considering the lyrics of his music though, I guess I’m not that surprised. Definitely controversial, hopefully in a good way.
At one point, The Weeknd had the ENTIRE crowd singing his lyrics. It was a pretty powerful scene to watch. One of the most amazing sights, a witness to the evolution of the concert experience in 2013, was looking across the crowd and seeing a sea of iPhone camera lights, in the hundreds. You could feel the love.
The show didn’t quite last until 11 pm but The Weeknd, as promised, stayed after to sign each and every copy of “Kiss Land” his loyal fans previously purchased. Congratulations to our contest winners Jasmine and Rob which had a great time, so we were happy. Big thank you to Live Nation for making the giveaway for the concert possible.
It was an amazing concert experience and I’m definitely proud to see the evolution of The Weeknd as an artist and a human being. With every new album, we get an insight into his evolution, maturity, and development and his performance and voice is astonishing. If you haven’t already – Purchase the “Kiss Land” album via iTunes here.
Whew! It might have just been another day to most people, but to us here at 2DopeBitches.com, August 29th was a CRAZY and busy memorable day. LA FLAME, our very first concert-style event was something we were excited to plan and incorporate our vision onto a live performance style event. We planned the event down to every last detail (blue colored light bulbs!)
From our experience going to smaller concerts in Miami, I cringe at the sight of seeing various opening acts struggling for the attention of a disinterested audience. Everyone standing anxiously for the main act, it’s a bore. Thats why with our live performance event, we aimed to produce a unique concert style experience – an actual party until the main act, Trap Paradise style.
We always want to make sure people get their money’s worth when they attend our events- so we provided all that we could. Sunglasses, custom original lighters, free Hennessy, and an amazing, high-energy performance by Travi$ alongside our dope DJ’s!
Heroes x Villains came down from ATL representing for VAVLT BOYZ and brought us a different style of his signature sound. Miami-based DJ’s Miami Marci and Just Dimy held it down and provided the right energy to set the night off. Last but not least, Travis Scott came out to show us a performance like no other. Along side his DJ Chase B, Travis did not fail to amaze us with his high-power anthems and emotional stage presence. From stage diving to forcing a couple people to sing each word of this song, Travis made sure he had your undivided attention.
Finally, we are really proud to share our experience with you guys! The positive response from the LA FLAME event was overwhelming, so trust us this won’t be the only event of this kind that we do. Thank you all for your support.

Miami, as you know, we always are excited to let you know about dope concerts that come to our city. And never one to disappoint, the team over at Dope ENT have some really great things up their sleeves. I mean, these guys are really putting in work. And so what they had to cancel their Chief Keef concert? Better safe than sorry, if your main act is getting arrested left and right.
Anyways, they’ve got some goodies coming to Miami in the next few months and you know we will keep you in the loop! Stay tuned beause you won’t want to msiss what’s coming to the Sunshine State.

His second release off his upcoming release, “Father Forgive Me,” Bobby Biscayne shows us another more elaborate side of the story. Accompanying sounds from Miami Marci, the production rides though the story with ease and clarity. Telling a tale of the “come up” gone wrong, you might want to think twice before before you flex in front of Bobby and his crew.
Father Forgive Me, Coming soon.
