So, this past week in Miami was all Art Basel this and Parisian pop up club that. But last week? Oh last week was special in a more homegrown way- the homies over at Fastlife Clothing, Vintage Stereon and YBG put on a show that, well, put on for the city- the Westside to be exact.
WESTSIDE PLAGUE- presented by Daily Cheifers, Womazing, Jahrue, and IMF Mag, went down with free shots/drinks for the ladies and each clothing sponsor/affiliate had their own room to showcase their designs however they saw fit. The Talent Farm actually is pretty dope- the vibe was that of a huge house party, just with a big stage and a DJ.
With performances by YNG, Quest, Da Camp, W$E, GMFB and Spaceghost Purrp and the Raider Klan , there was no shortage of hometeam love. The music was on point all night, with sounds provided by DJ A.N.D. oh and not to mention the whole shindig was hosted by us Dope Bitches! We challenged the sneaker savvy audience to some Jordan V trivia in order to win free clothes.. and who won? A girl. Yes that’s right, we rule.
We were certainly a little far from our Miami-Dade home all the way in Broward, but we made the trip and helped make it a good night. Norma sported some avant garde Indian jewelry while I rocked a BAD snakeskin strap back by our friends at Bad Bunch NYC (Check out their store HERE!)
Our beautiful friend Daniela was there with us, capturing the night from on and off the stage. Check out the photos of the night below!
Last Friday, October 12, the DJ duo Flosstradmus graced the stage at Grand Central in downtown Miami to a packed house full of sweaty, drunk hip hop / EDM heads. Flosstradamus is widely known for their seamless mixing of electro dance music and trap music. It’s a melodic and gritty combination that, in my humble opinion, brings very different people together. Everyone at the show seamed to be having an amazing time, I know I was.
I personally love this duo and have had the pleasure of hearing them spin at The Roots Picnic in Philly and, for an unfortunatley short amount of time, at the Trillectro concert in DC last August.
Check out my quick photo recapd of the night. The crowd was SO into the set it was only right to include a couple shots of them in GIF form. Peep homegirl’s gold metallic Wu-Tang shirt too.
Recently Norma and I were invited to a pre-screening of Spike Lee’s newest film Red Hoook Summer, which was released in theaters Friday August 31. It tells the tale of Flick, a young black kid from comfortable middle-class Atlanta who has to spend the summer with his extremely religious Grandfather, Bishop Enoch Rouse. Firstly, I would like to thank Cherline Louissaint for the invitation, along with O Cinema. If you haven’t been to O Cinema and you live in Miami then you have no excuse not to go – its a small personal environment surrounded by old movie posters and art, sitting right in the middle of Wynwood, on 90 NW 29th Street. It is an independently run establishment that specializes in showing first-run independent, foreign, art, and niche market films.
The movie, like anything expected of Spike Lee, takes place in Brooklyn ( the Red Hook projects to be exact ) and tells the story of some of the inhabitants and their day to day life, yet the film seemed to me unlike most other Spike Lee films of the past. The movie was shot with a small cast and crew. The first-person, riveting camera shots that Mr. Lee is known for only appeared once during the entire film. At first thought, the film was preachy and annoying – the only thing that makes it known that ‘Spizzike’ had his hand in this film was his occasional appearance (wearing some Spizzikes of course).
OK, without giving the ending away- let’s just say this movie is about a man trying to teach a boy a lesson even though he seems to learn more in the end. I want to break down my personal pros and cons of this movie. Norma and I agreed that I would be best suited for this review as I am a black person and I have many thoughts on the issues of being black in America. Let’s see:
Honestly, I felt the movie was preaching to me for 90 minutes. In my opinion there is a way to explore religion and faith without pushing it down someone’s throat, and this wasn’t it. I felt like I didn’t want to step inside a church ever again after leaving the theater.
Overall, I didn’t really care for the movie. I noticed that many people left the theater smiling and happy, yet we left feeling disappointed and a little taken aback. I really would love to hear all of your comments on the film !

Check out some photos we took from that day. There was a chalk board wall where guests were encouraged to write their thoughts on the movie. We thought it was best we wrote those thoughts on 2dopebitches.com instead.
This past Friday August 24th, your favorite 2 dope bitches gave away a couple of free tickets to the Miami leg of the Sneaker Pimps tour. It just so happens to be the 10th ANNIVERSARY of the legendary Sneaker exhibit! The whole night was dope – there were many tables full Miami’s bright up and comers in the urban fashion world- 8&9, Mahvee, Deadstock ave, Gullysteeze, Yeah Boy and more where in full effect with their best pieces laid out. The sneakers were of course on point, most heat being the shoes on people’s feet rather than the tables. Honey Cocaine, like us, is an avid Jordan fan and wore not one but two pairs of Jays that night. Ace Hood had on some Jays as well, I just wish Iggy wore some sneakers on too..
There was live art, FREE HEINEKEN, and DJ ‘sFly Guy and Oh So along with host Dave Jeff who were keeping everyone entertained with nostalgic and new Hip Hop and hilarious commentary.
Honey Cocaine, along with Ace Hood and Iggy Azalea ripped the stage and asking for a couple bad bitches to come on stage proceeded to pick a gaggle of girls , and a few guys as well, on stage for a dance party while she belted out the last few songs of her set.
We got a ridiculous amount of dope shots!
Peep the photo gallery of the photos we got of the crowd, the clothes, the art and of course the performers !
Shout out to Peter from Sneaker Pimps for the opportunity to cover the event as well as Safe Statick, DJ Dave Jeff, DJ Carisma, and everyone else who came out and to all the wonderful people we met that night!
Trillectro.
All it takes is one lazy Google search to realize that if you missed this, you missed a monumental moment in time for DC, “don’t put me in a box” multi-music-genre loving kids and well, music in general. The festival that lasted over 12 hours on a warm and partly cloudy day last Saturday was a testament to what a few young people can really pull off with the right tools and passion. DCtoBC , the 3-person collective (who are from the Nation’s Capital and went to Boston College,) really did throw one of the best music festivals to date. I mean, there was a slew of local artists, some nationally known and some up and comers who definitely kept the crowd entertained, live art, awesome food trucks (and a CUPCAKE TRUCK!!) and not one damn fight. Everyone was in a neo-hippie state of mind- the electro people and the hip-hop people not being so different.
I managed to snap a few pictures of the performances, the talent just chilling and a few cool people along the way. I regret to inform you that I didn’t (well forgot) to get a Trillectro flavored cup cake but I did do a front flip on the moon bounce- that counts for something right?
Anyways, take a look at my photos below and check out the 2dopebitches full Facebook album for more flicks !
Oh, I wore my grill that, along with Norma’s gold fangs, ave become the beacon of 2dopebitches.com and I swear I grilled and showed off my crazy nail art possibly all weekend. No complaints though !
Oh, by the way, this dude with a FEATHER DUSTER was straight up getting down to Beyond Modern’s set:
Last Wednesday, me and Aja were invited by our good friend Ashley to check out SAPPARO Beer and Complex Magazines Happy Hour at Chalk Lounge on South Beach. Chalk is a relatively new venue which features a pool hall, ping-pong tables, DJs, and other fun stuff. It’s a dope setting and large enough you’re not fighting the bar for a drink (or two). In this case it was free Sapparo beer for a couple of hours and as always us dope chicks are very very very fashionably late. But nonetheless we stocked up before it was too late!
We got to see a couple good friend and Miami scene regulars and had a really good time. After Aja’s never-ending Mexican obsession lead her to her favorite taco spot called CRAZY TACOS. Their bathrooms always out-of-order and some mean guy wouldn’t give me a free cup of water but according to Aja the vegetarian, the Nachos are orgasmic. Couple that with a random bum outside saying he has a blog and that we must be from New York because of our ‘fashion sense’. Nope we just are different. Forgot his website but he gave us his e-mail. South Beach adventure.
Shout out to COMPLEX and ASHLEY OUTRAGEOUS as well as WOMAZING.COM (kas!) , SIN, MARCI, PHOTODAVE and QUEST AND JUST EVERYONE that was out there in general, I see you ASAP HOLLYWOOD and you too SPIFFY!
Check out the gallery below! Holla.

On a very sunny and hot Saturday in Miami, I along with over 40 fitness enthusiasts joined celebrity trainer and extra dope chick, Jackie Warner on an hour-long cardio intensive workout on South Beach, did I say it was extremely scorching hot?

In partner ship with all-natural and all-perfectly pure Evian water, Jackie proceeded to beat our behinds and motivate us to the near point of exhaustion and luckily Evian was there on hand to keep us all hydrated. The workout took place at the beautiful Raleigh hotel located on South Beach as part of her three-city tour (New York, Los Angeles, Miami) to promote healthy and hydrated living with Evian. Located literally poolside, it was so refreshing and inspirational to see all kinds of people come together to workout. Any kind of exercise can be a big hurdle for some (including me!). It’s hard to stay motivated and even harder to be consistent when it comes to physical exercise, but Jackie’s encouraging words during the session made me think differently about fitness and how important it really is for all of us.

We did crunches, lunges, jumps, and tension band exercises ; proving that you can really get an intense workout without the help of a machine. When I say intense, I mean INTENSE but in a good way! Whenever I felt like giving up, Jackie would always know what to say to get me right back in the game; “I’m not doing something to you, I’m doing something for you.” Another thing I noticed was that there were several body types in attendance. From athletic and fit to novices among ordinary people who just honesty wanted to get fit. It really was about all different types of people striving to become fit together under Jackie’s wing with an urge to get our blood pumping for ourselves!

And pumping it did. No lie, I was sore for at least 2 days after this work out. If I didn’t have Evian at hand I probably would have passed out because the Florida sun was not playing that day! The Evian team was extremely helpful and cheerful. We also got these cute Evian goody bags filled with tension bands, headbands, cute body baby printed tees (Get it, Live YOUNG?), and healthy snacks. After the cardio session, Jackie had a short Q&A session with our group where she told us great healthy snacks and even shared that it its alright to have cheat meals as long as you stay on track with your daily fitness. Then, the group was treated to a healthy and delicious breakfast buffet which featured oatmeal, fruits, nuts, and other goodies.
It was honestly a very accomlplsihing day and a motivating experience. I want to thank everyone at Evian including Jodie and Anais plus the others who helped organize the event. Thanks again Jackie! You rule! Sigh, Amazing day.
Check out photos from the from the event below with a few personal ones mixed in there. Make sure to stay in tune with Evian and Jackie Warner below!

This past Saturday, Miami’s premier choice for everything footwear, fabulous, and dope – AIR. TRAFFIC. CONTROL A.K.A. A.T.C. celebrated its FORTH year as Miami’s only and best consignment sneaker shop. Since its beginnings in 2008, the shop has attracted worldwide attention. There’s nothing remotely close to it when it comes to sneaker shops. From its aerial themed decor to the shop’s personalities, A.T.C. has proved something by still being around after 4 years, It can live up against your average sneaker store.

It feels good to see the guys at the shop keep on with their heads high as I am personally great friends with all of the guys over there. As we all could imagine its tough to keep any company afloat even for a year. So this 4th year is definitely a testament to entrepreneurship and a great accomplishment. It was a great turn out Saturday as people from the street wear community dropped by to hear some dope sounds from the shop’s owner DAAI LO and DJ Aliyo while sippin’ on complimentary Vitamin Water (mine with Henny courtesy of Rugah). Saw some familiar faces and some new ones and I had a blast. Check out the gallery below to see how it went down. Shout out to Greg, Eddie, Ricky on their accomplishments and to many more years in the game!
Also check out the flyer below for information on the grand bash for the shop going down this Saturday 6/9 at ARKADIA at the famous Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. Its going to be nuts!

AS ALWAYS, this past Friday a.k.a. SUPER FRIDAYS at Mansion Nightclub was a dope affair ! We were a little skeptical of the crowd and music that would be surrounding us since the headliner was Jersey Shore’s own DJ Pauly D, but it was all good ! The people were beautiful, at least the ones we met and the music was fun and perfect for the night. Fist pumping ensued, drinks were poured, and it was like a movie. The club was actually the most packed we’ve ever seen it with people standing everywhere !
Many many thanks to everyone who made it out ! Follow @2DopeBitches on Twitter to get the scoop on how to party with us and have a ball as well as @AECollective to get updates on the best Arts and Entertainment events happening around Miami and the world.
