After a successful opening weekend, Red Rabbit Presents their second installment of BASE at Space Nightclub. This time they come to us with DJ’s Benzi and Oh Snap!!. Both bringing their own twist to the electronic Trap element, I’m curious to see how the two will transform the room. Click below to listen to their sound and be prepared to clap, clap , clap.

Every Miami’an has been there. Space Nightclub in Downtown Miami on 34 NE 11th St.. You’ve either done an all-nighter and ended up at its infamous after-hours party or have been induced into the party scene when you were 18 (or maybe younger) and visited the various rooms as a newbie. “Space has always been ahead of its time, more than just being a staple in Miami nightlife, Space has served as the pulse for the dance music scene in this city for over a decade,” says Shane Vernon from Red Rabbit Presents, a communication firm specializing in event management and creation. We can’t deny that we haven’t had a good time at Space, but as we grew up and moved on from the Downtown clubs of Miami, Space has consistently stood tall on a block that has a constant rotation of nightclub turnover. Known for its large-scale parties and various rooms offerings, Space is actually an amazing Miami club staple with consistency and reputation.
Now, Space Nightclub continues to revolutionize the clubbing experience and has brought on the event management company Red Rabbit Presents to re-brand their Hip-Hop room at the club, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. With the current state of hip-hop constantly evolving, Hip-Hop has become extremely diverse. The idea is a return back to fundamentals, a return back to the BASE – and with that comes the new identity for the Hip-Hop room called BASE. They already have DJ’s like Luminox, Gent & Jawns, DJ SLiiNK, Salva, and Green Lantern booked – I think their going in the right direction. “With the cyclical nature of music, we are getting to witness this electronic music influence fuse together with Hip-Hop, and many other genres, to give birth to all kinds of new music on a daily basis.” Hip-Hop isn’t 50 Cent and Puff Daddy anymore. Hip-Hop has changed dramatically and continues to everyday – that’s why the re-branding effort comes as a refreshing and impressive change for Space. For an established Downtown club to be able to accept change and welcome a “new” genre of sorts into their main room is almost never heard of. Where do we get to hear EDM trap in Miami? Even smaller clubs that try it are scared to embrace its rookie-ness and end up turning to more commercial music to ease their generic crowds.
Who should check out the new Hip-Hop room at Space I asked Shawn. “Anyone with an open mind… Music holds no prejudice, no stereotypes, and no judgements. BASE is built on those same principles. So in my eyes, the ideal BASE attendee would carry those same traits close to their heart. It’s about having a love for music, a passion for a good time, and a respect for everybody.”
I like this. A new Hip-Hop room updated with 2013 ideals. I don’t want to hear that damn Fat Man Scoop drop that’s asks you, “if you have a hundred dollar bill put your hands up!” – that’s outdated and old. Lets turn to the future and embrace the trends! I’m over hearing the same tired records. No more “Poison” by Bell Biv Davoe for God’s sake.
Check out the first installment of BASE this SATURDAY with LUMINOX.

I love Miami. This city is open territory for all things entertainment, creative, and the arts. So its natural that someone would want to bring fashion into the mix and create a film festival that primary focuses on the fashion industry and the people, places, and ideas that fuel it. Taking place at the O Cinema right in Wynwood on September 12-15, 2013, the festival will showcase documentaries, shorts, and narratives films — produced both locally and internationally. Theres something for film and fashion lovers alike.
“Our overall mission is to collectively evolve and diversify the way we experience fashion in our community and expand the dialogue on fashion as a thematic extension of the arts. Fashion is much more than clothes. Fashion is an artistic and creative lifeline for many,” says Grace M. Castro, Founder of the Fashion Inspires More.
The festival is the brainchild of Fashion Inspires More, a fashion infused non-profit Miami-based community arts organization formed in 2013. By creating collaborative projects that intermix fashion with multiple art disciplines including film, photography, writing, and design they are able to educate the public on various causes, opportunities, and overall culture within the industry.
Featuring an exclusive kick-off party, a film costume and photography exhibit, guest speakers, a fashion show, pop-up shops, and a closing party celebrating the festival’s anticipated success the event sounds like a fun week for all the fashionistas in Miami. It’s for a great cause benefiting the Fashion Inspired More arts organization and encouraging energy in the South Florida culture community. Love to see people doing great and unique things for a positive cause.

So, after rain, mud, and no power THE COLLECTION Pop-Up Shop was a big success!
It was our first time getting out into the field to bring you guys our online boutique in physical form. We collaborated with a wonderful street market that goes down each Second Saturday at Miami’s Art Walk. We planned and scavenged for the right products for this very special debut and we were happy to have satisfied customers! The market has various vendors from all different avenues. There was everything from home-made candles to tasty treats and African art. Our neighbors included a great local street artist named Frank and a home goods booth. We enjoyed the creative individuals and hungry entrepreneurs and really loved the energy of the whole lot.
Miami is bi-polar weather-wise. It can be sunny one minute and pouring raining the next. Our Saturday started out dark and cloudy and after a few hours of setting up out table then rushing to cover it up with plastic garbage bags we stuck it out and survived the rain. At the end, we ended up with a better location after the rain died out (and so did a few vendors, as many abandoned ship and left their good spots in the market!) We ended up with a prime location and some great foot traffic.
We really enjoyed ourselves and even saw a couple great friends and loyal supporters. From Tamar to Da Camp and ASAP P and the gang, we really enjoyed seeing our friends out there. Also cannot forget our wonderful team who helped us set up and even moved our table in the mud to our better location. They know who they are!
We really enjoyed this enough to say, next Art Walk we will be there again, braving it out and showing brand new quality items! We loved the energy of meeting you guys in person! Always stay updated with THE COLLECTION and come to the POP-UP SHOPS for reduced prices and quality service

Being re-released in select retailers this April 19th, 1973 by Mr.R has put together quite the Miami launch party for the retro sneaker. Local love. Always have to represent for the local artist striving to get in where they fit in! Join Daily Chiefer’s, Archetype, and Ashley Outrageous as they usher in some of South Florida’s hungriest MC’s and artists over at the Garret this Sunday at Grand Central in Downtown Miami. Should be a good time.
